Dr. Garland L. Thomas is the Founding Principal of Johnson College Prep. Her mission is to effect positive change and quality education for her scholars. She joined the Noble team in July 2008 and has used her internship to plan and prepare for another excellent Noble Campus. Prior to joining the Noble team, Dr. Thomas’s work included years of service in education as a special education teacher, team leader, and assistant principal in Illinois. In June 2009, she completed her doctoral studies through DePaul University and looks forward to challenging Johnson College Prep scholars to go all the way in their education. Like many of the scholars who will attend Johnson College Prep, Dr. Thomas grew up in a community stricken with poverty and the obstacles thereof. She will be an example to her scholars that all things are possible through hard work and perseverance!
